Hello all,

macOS Supplemental Update (Oct. 1, 2020) has just appeared in my "Software Update".

I suppose this is to patch the "messed up" Security Update 2020-005.

Has anybody downloaded this Supplemental Update and see if it fixes the problems??

I would try it out myself, but my system is already messed up quite a bit.

Hello ferences,

Thanks for the information!

I'll install the patch tomorrow, after I take care of a few mission-critical tasks on my (currently) degraded 2013 Mac Pro.

Right now, I can't afford to have a "completely hosed" system!

Yes, this update 10.14.6 (18G6032) has fixed the problems.

Downloaded the update as well, did it open the DVD drawer after rebooting on Mac pro's 4,1 5,1?? It did on my flashed 4,1

The new supplemental update fixed the excessive memory usage on both my systems. My 2018 mini was using 16-20GB of RAM with SU 2020-005 and Safari 14, now it is at 7.1GB and my 2014 mini was using 11GB of RAM, now it is at 3.2GB.
