    Among the starlings
Into two separate corporations for its "news" and "entertainment" businesses. Tellingly, the "Fox News" TV franchise belongs to the entertainment branch.

Makes sense. You don't really see much news on cable news networks anymore.

This is a very blatant attempt to try and insulate the TV/film side of the business from what's coming out about the newspapers. My guess is that what's so far come out about the News International subsidiary in the UK is going to be found to be replicated elsewhere, and the News Corp shareholders have demanded this to protect their investment in the more profitable broadcast ventures.

However, James Murdoch is still guilty IMO of allowing officials working for him to bribe public officials. Therefore he still needs to stand trial, if not under UK law then most definitely under the law of the USA. And no way should the UK OfCom regulator permit the broadcast spin-off to purchase any further interest in BSkyB until the Murdochs are no longer in charge of the parent company.

    On tenterhooks
I heard earlier, that on leaked news their shares had bumped up by $4.

How can you tell who has shares on NewsCorp?

They are the ones with paper bags over their head.
