REGARDLESS of your politics, should Apple promote an actor just because they made a political speech somewhere? REALLY? This annoys me.

She's trending, so they promote her. Business is business.

No, but they should promote the actress who won the Lifetime Achievement Award.

As a stockholder, I demand that Apple increase shareholder value. If Grandma Streep's photoshopped mug does that, fine.

There is literally zero political messaging in that screenshot you posted.

She won a lifetime achievement award. It's not politics. If someone else had won, they would be featured there now.

    Breath.

Streep just won a life time achievement award plus she's this generation's greatest actress.

Not sure I'd go that far, but I did love her in The Devil Wears Prada.

I have no problem that Apple is trying to capitalizing on her wining the award. Only thing that annoys me is that she used the Golden Globe awards show to spew her political vomit. I've given up on watching these award shows for that reason. No matter what side the the political speech is coming from it should have no place at an awards show.

If she'd said nice things about Trump, I'll bet they would have used an un-Photoshopped image of her, wattles and all.

This generation's greatest actress?! If that bar gets set any higher, a snake will no longer be able to jump over it.

How is giving her thoughts "vomit"? How is defending against attacks Trump and others on the right have and continue to make "vomit"?

If Trump hadn't mocked a disabled person to begin with, and attacked Hollywood and the media, her speech wouldn't have been what it was.

Don't like how things are political? Write a letter to Trump and tell him to stop being a divisive ass clown. Good luck! I have a feeling you will need it.

I love that celebrities of all stripes (actors, athletes, etc.) are completely dehumanized and treated by some as robots that should do their jobs and shut up. Guess what? They are people and they have political opinions. Criticize their politics or ignore them, but you don't have the right to silence them.

Politicians on the right are upset that most of America doesn't listen or pay attention to them. Deep down they want to be movie stars.

My guess is that iTunes is showcasing Streep not because of her speech but rather that she won a number of awards including the Lifetime Achievement award. I enjoy Streep as an actress even though I disagree with her politics.

You might recall that Obama mocked disabled people too when he said his bowling was like the special olympics. Obama too heat for that, and rightly so, and so should Trump.

I think what bothers people about sports figures and actors making political statements is that people turn to movies, concerts or sports to get away from politics and the constant barrage of political news. But when politics turn up in these non-political outlets, people rightly get mad. I know I do. I want to watch the awards ceremony or the football game, not listen to someone droning on about Obama, Trump, or any other political figure.

You might like to bet on alternate realities. But in this reality, there is nothing political about this iTunes screenshot.
