No Audio after itune 8 and QT 7.5 update

Just auto updated and restarted computer. When the computer came back on everything works fine except the volume its grey and locked on mute. Cannot access from system pref. dunno what happened? Help plz if u can figure out the problem

It might have modified the output preferences. Check your System Preferences to see if anything has changed.
