I tried installing blackra1n and it doesnt work. Everything runs fine on the computer and the iPod reboots, but there's not a blackra1n icon.

I thought maybe this prob might be firmware related as I'm running 2.2.1.

I've read a few step-by-step guides for installing blackra1n, yet not one mentions firmware requirements for the iPod Touch.
Is there a minimum version of the firmware that must be installed? Or could there be some other problem?

Thanks

As "tadad1" stated, you can't jailbreak since you are on the 2.2.1 Firmware. Blackra1n will only jailbreak 3.1.2.
