iPod touch No copy paste on mobile sites?

My first generation Ipod touch recently upgraded to 3.1.1 and now noticed thAt I cannot copy text from a mobile site. CNN mobile I cannot select any text. But once I switch to the HTML site I can copy paste etc like normal.

Is this normal or am I missing something?
