Hi so I want to switch to icloud drive but unlike Dropbox it doesn’t have any password entry let alone 2 layer security.

With dropbox you have first a password and then you can add another layer ie 2 factor.

Why doesn’t apple add security features to icloud drive?

Apple does secure with two factor.

What is missing is: what device are you accessing from? A trusted device will not prompt for a code. So, for example, Mac is trusted, iPhone is, neither will ask for code. Get a new iPad, will be prompted for second factor. Or if accessing from web browser on different computer.

Or if two factor is not on, go to appleid.apple.com and turn it on. And then will see previous paragraph behaviour.

If accessing from iP* device, passcode on device/FaceID/TouchID is first tier of protection.
