Apple Music recently started doing this: some songs will randomly have no sound, even though they show as playing. If I skip them and go back, they then play fine. But why is it doing this in the first place? All my devices are up-to-date and my internet is fine.

Don’t know, but I had the same issue some months ago.
Now, when playing a song on my Mac and closing the lid/have it go to sleep, when waking it and continue playing it plays a couple of seconds and then stop playing the audio.
Apple Music is a mess, on iOS and macOS.
