Hmm? I seem to remember Trump walking away from the meeting in Vietnam because Kim refused to negotiate? It's amazing how people are experts in reading between the lines. I guess they either want the U.S. to lob a few nuclear bombs at NOKO or give them billions of dollars to pacify them.

Or maybe Trump should never have agreed to a meeting that was destined to fail? There is a reason that most summits of this sort are preceded by months or years of discussions between the countries to work out the framework of a deal that the leaders can sign. Trump’s overtures to Kim have been an amateur clown show from the beginning.

Trump supports and believes Kim Jong Un over Joe Biden. This is fact.

Still angling for a deal, Trump backs Kim Jong Un over Biden, Bolton and Japan

It was preceded by months of discussions, with the SoS going to NK, the NK envoy coming to the US, and several smaller delegations. It was also preceded by a NK-SK summit, with SK encouraging the US to begin aggressive talks with NK. It was also preceded by a NK-China summit, and it was also preceded by US-China talks on the NK situation.
There was more activity on this one than the Nixon-Mao summit.

Fair enough - but it still involved Trump and his administration. So... there's that LOL

    None of which accomplished anything.

(And I'll just add a question here that is tangentially related to your Nixon comment. The Kissinger avatar is meant to be ironic, right? You don't actually see anything with highlighting in that war criminal, do you?)

Let's face it, the talks meant nothing, this was a way for NoKo to look good at Trump's expense, and he fell for it because Un was "nice" to him and sent him a big letter. Dictators can't believe the luck they're having.

Positive thinking my dear friend: it's Friday. ;):)

Patience guys, patience. A 40+ year war/hostility doesn't end in two summits, especially if one country is very reclusive and a nuclear power.
The truth is that NK is a total mess.

Not ironic, I am very interested in the subject which I actively study down to the tons of primary sources.

Hypocrisy run amok. It wasn't that long ago Obama stated he would sit down with North Korea and the left loved it. Inversely the right lost their ****. Now Trump does what Obama couldn't do and the left blast Trump and the right is silent. It'd be nice if people started sticking to their principles ON BOTH SIDES wouldn't it?

More hyperventilation and I head this from a friend who knows a guy reporting...

    From the article:

    *snip*

Reuters was unable to independently confirm the report. Previously, North Korean officials have been executed or purged only to reappear with a new title, according to media reports.

A diplomatic source told Reuters there were signs Kim Hyok Chol and other officials were punished, but there was no evidence they were executed and they may have been sent to a labor camp for re-education.

The newspaper reported that other officials had been punished, but not executed.

I believe that the news comes from the NK Pro group/think-tank/news agency. They don't like NK at all, so the source might be biased, however they are also quite informed about NK events. I receive their monthly executive summary on NK.

    How many bombs??
Please stop trying to indoctrinate with your alternative facts. The US was not at war, and N.and S. Korea were not at war with each other under Obama. Essentially nothing has changed since the Obama Administration.

And your hero, started out his Administration by ratcheting up tension with N. Korea so that he could then put on a mummer’s farce and pretending they were now complying or cooperating with our demands.

Nearly two years into his presidency and more than six months after his historic summit meeting with Kim Jong-un of North Korea, President Trump finds himself essentially back where he was at the beginning in achieving the ambitious goal of getting Mr. Kim to relinquish his nuclear arsenal.

That was the essential message of Mr. Kim’s annual New Year’s televised speech, where he reiterated that international sanctions must be lifted before North Korea will give up a single weapon, dismantle a single missile site or stop producing nuclear material.

speaking of alternative facts, the Koreas have been at war since the 50's.......... no peace treaty has been signed as of yet. Kim has every right to complain as sanctions hurt his nation. notice Kim appears willing to give up weapons, dismantle missiles & stop producing nuclear material ,,,,,,,,, under the trump administration, not under the oclueless one.

I mean active hostility. Yes, I do know there was no peace treaty as there is no peace treaty today under Trunp’s tutelage, but he puts on such a wonderful show that keeps the minions happy.:oops:
