Eh...it’s their spend so it’s their call. If they don’t want to serve beef and processed meat in public facilities, whatever.

If they start making citizens do the same, then it might be time to find a new financial capital of the world.

This is just such an insanely virtuous gesture that the mayor is signaling.

DeBlasio is such a winner. What exactly has he done for any New Yorker again, other than support his cronies? Can anybody remind me?

Uh, so are people pretending like hot dog carts are government funded?

I'm planning to buy into the IPO for Beyond Meat next week if the price is reasonable.

That headline is alarmist. It doesn't ban hot dogs at all and it doesn't force these changes in food supplies on the general public. I'm all for healthier food options supplied by tax payers.

It's not like he's declaring ketchup, pickle relish or pizza a vegetable (although I'd get several servings of veggies a week with the last item! :D)

If this happens I'm moving to NY to become a hot dog dealer! First hot dog will be free and I'll throw in a 32oz soda with a plastic straw.

Click bait headline. It's NYC and their money deciding what they will and will not purchase. While I don't necc agree - I don't take issue with it either.

But you can see from the post above me that you click bait headline worked. Congrats. At least one poster believes that you won't be able to buy hot dogs in NYC now... :/

“Click bait” is too polite. It’s more accurate to say that the headline, and thread title, is a lie.

or the NYC version of bushmeat, which is probably comparable to hot dogs anyway.

It sounds like de Blasio is getting ready to run for President in 2020.

The race to see which Democrat can be the furthest to the left :).

So, are you just going to ignore the fact that this entire discussion is based on a complete misrepresentation of what NYC is actually doing?
