In today’s Obama is the biggest and fakest joke in U.S. politics ever news...

Obama commutes sentences of 58 more federal prisoners

    May 5, 2016

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/under-the-radar/2016/05/obama-commutes-federal-prisoners-222865

President Barack Obama commuted the sentences of 58 more federal prisoners Thursday, seeking to add momentum to his drive to allow earlier releases of men and women serving lengthy terms for drug offenses.

The newly announced commutations bring to 306 the total number of commutations Obama has issued since taking office more than seven years ago.

More than two years ago, the Obama administration launched a "Clemency Initiative" that prompted more than 36,000 prisoners to request assistance filing applications for commutations. Obama aides hoped thousands of prisoners would have their sentences shortened through the initiative.

However, the president's effort encountered bureaucratic obstacles and has been dependent to a large degree on volunteer lawyers organized through an outside consortium called Clemency Project 2014. In January, the Justice Department's pardon attorney quit, citing a lack of resources and an inability to communicate directly with the White House.

306 out of TENS OF THOUSANDS. Haha !! Should have elected Ron Paul in 2012, he promised to presidentially pardon ALL nonviolent “drug criminals” of all races nationwide. But about those supposed “bureaucratic obstacles,” it is OBAMA who is the obstacle:

No Clemency For You! Obama's "Legacy-Defining" Program Struggles

Executive editor and founder of Black Agenda Report Glen Ford was back for his Ford Report, this time to discuss the Obama administration's struggling prison clemency program.

Obama has his pen and his phone, but he doesn’t use either for good.

Obama could do what Ron Paul promised and right now presidentially pardon tens of thousands, but he won’t. He’s too busy using his pen to sign the largest military spending bill in U.S. history into law [2012 NDAA], that included provision on secret indefinite detention of Americans with no charge or trial, that according to Sen. Carl Levin: Obama demanded be included or he wouldn’t sign it. He’s too busy using his phone to call his golfing buddies about another round.

He’s not trying, though. That’s the thing.

Please tell me you do not actually believe that.

I know you enjoy playing devil's advocate but really Ron Paul?

Ron Paul is antiwar; Obama has bombed more countries than Bush and dropped more bombs than the Bush regime. Ron Paul promised to presidentially pardon all nonviolent “drug criminals” nationwide; Obama has continued the “war on drugs” which is really a war on minorities and in his so-called legacy-defining program has released the minimal amount of prisoners possible without the press being able to say he hasn’t released any, while at the same time it is Obama blocking tens of thousands from release. Ron Paul is anti-illegal NSA spying; Obama has continued Bush’s illegal spying crimes and expanded those worse than what Bush did. Ron Paul is pro-whistleblowers and transparency (Edward Snowden donated $500 to Ron Paul 2012); Obama promised the most transparent administration ever and to protect whistleblowers but instead has had the least transparent administration ever and has viciously targeted, charged and/or prosecuted and imprisoned more whistleblowers than all previous presidents in U.S. history COMBINED x2. For a few examples.

Ron Paul is 1,000,000x better than Obama is virtually every way.

Right. No review to weed out those who might be a problem after release. Just blanket pardon tens of thousands. That sounds prudent and thoughtful.

Yep, Obama could release tens of thousands of nonviolent “drug criminals,” but he won’t. Obama is only doing the least possible, without the press being able to say he hasn’t released anyone. It’s another Obama stage show: He photo-ops and plays the “good guy” trying to help; humanizing Obama, and that he’s trying to do the right thing. But then it is Obama who’s the reason prisoners are being blocked.

It is more Obama fakery and ****ery, from the biggest and fakest joke in U.S. politics ever.

Just like how Obama promised to have the most transparent administration ever and to protect whistleblowers, to then have the least transparent administration ever and has targeted, charged and/or prosecuted and imprisoned more whistleblowers than all previous presidents in U.S. history
COMBINED x2. And that he is the first president to imprison a transgendered whistleblower [Chelsea Manning] and a black whistleblower [Jeffrey Sterling]. Or how Obama was supposed to be the anti-illegal NSA spying constitutional champion, then has continued all Bush’s illegal spying crimes and expanded the illegal spying worse than what Bush did and is illegally spying on 100,000,000+ Americans daily. Or how Obama was supposed to be the antiwar anti-Bush, but has bombed more countries than Bush and has dropped more bombs than the Bush regime. Or how Obama promised leading 9/11 families to their faces he would declassify the 28 pages and help them receive 9/11 justice, then has blocked thousands of Americans from justice by siding with 9/11 co-conspirators in U.S. federal courts vs. those Americans and has kept the 28 pages hidden and conspired in his own terrorism conspiracy with 9/11 co-conspirators named therein to attempt the overthrow of legitimate Syrian government that has not attacked America. Obama who cries fake, staged, psychopathic tears for U.S. victims of gun violence, while at the same time Obama is arming terrorists with machine guns and ammunition that have been used to kill men, women and children. And is still sending thousands of tons more: Ak-47s, heavy machine guns, RPG rocket launchers, ammunition and explosives to terrorists to kill more men, women and children. Shall I continue?

I bet you any denomination that that Syrian soldier was murdered with an Obama-provided AK-47 and ammo. Any denomination.

Right. And being exposed to the nation's prison systems never changes anyone. Every last one of them are still non-violent.

...adding, not saying descent caused by imprisonment should result in doing their full sentence. Just saying you can't just blanket release without some review as to suitability for release and/or need for help reacclimating to life outside prison.

They should never have been locked up in the first place. If they commit crimes upon release, then they get sent back to prison. Obama is the one BLOCKING thousands and thousands and thousands of men and women, including brown and black, liberal and democrat, from being released and sent home to their communities, loved ones and families. But please, try to continue playing apologist for Obama.

Continuing to keep tens of thousands of black men and women unnecessarily locked up in prison, who should never have been locked up in the first place, has to be defended and apologized for because Obama is the reason they remain blocked from release. But if Bush were still POTUS, and this was his “legacy-defining” program and he had publicly pretended he was going to help them be freed, the same blockage would be harshly condemned by you as yet another sign that “Bush is the worst POTUS ever!”

Must protect Obama. Logic, morality, reason and justness be damned!
