Good old fox and friends, their version of a morning cup of joe is to find something retarded to whine about Obama on.

As an officer I always returned a proper salute to enlisted men that followed military courtesies.

I think the president should do the same. Yeah I know you're busy, but there are Marines there, who've busted their behinds to serve. President should be mindful and respectful.

The POTUS isn't an officer nor in uniform. If we're going to start whining about the POTUS salutes, lets include every POTUS.

Did I say a name or anything about Obama...and the President is the highest officer. It's where our military food chain ends. There is a reason he is saluted to begin with.

I, as well. You never have anything in your right hand when you salute. I'm sure some will say I'm just being partisan but George Bush is restraining his dog, while attempting to return the salute. That is different than holding a latte in your right hand while saluting. Bush had served, he knew better. Obama may not have known but you can bet he is aware now.

As mentioned before, Eisenhower served. Why just blast Obama?

In other words, if he never did, and Reagan didn't, why are panties in a bunch over this now? It's like trying to find the slightest excuse to name the next -gate after.

I think the reason you are looking for is "BLACKSLIDING"

Have you ever served? Ever get a lazy salute back by some ate up officer?

    It sucks.

My ACU's were always clean and my grooming was squared away, and I conducted myself like an officer. Enlisted men, the men who are the ones out there busting their ass keeping the military going, deserve some damn respect.

It's not just a formality as far as I am concerned.

So let me pose this to you: Would you give Eisenhower the same dressing down? Even despite the fact that outside of being POTUS, he outranks you?

Man, you guys are slipping. A latte? Maybe it was a Venti Iced Skinny Hazelnut Macchiato, Sugar-Free Syrup, Extra Shot, Light Ice, No Whip or just a cup of coffee.

    The correct term is blacktracking.

The role of the president itself outranks me. Not sure what you mean.

And one can't use Ike as an example. He certainly earned his credibility and the right to be "off" on occasion.

Not like Obama, or Bush even were knee deep in a world of hurt with rounds zipping by, leading from the front.

    Can't really make that parallel.

And no, you don't make a correction on the president. I'd return his ****** salute and not vote for him.

So your goal posts shift there. In your opinion, the POTUS should salute his troops back.

Eisenhower didn't, and gets a free pass.

Eisenhower, even not as POTUS, may not have saluted back to the troops under his command that saluted him, but because of his 'credibility', he gets a pass.

If you're going to take a stand about it, take a stand about it across the board and be firm on it. wavering because of someone's bona fides shouldn't stand in front of your principles, otherwise your principles don't mean a bloody thing.

You weren't on a navy ship or a pier then.

    I was.

You should also know the manual. Salute only while covered.

On a ship officers vary rarely saluted even when they were required to.

This is Much to do about nothing.

And BTW. Air Force One is considered a ship.

Tell me a little big about your experience with military customers and courtesies and combat leadership experience?

    ----------

Navy...yeah I guess that might be considered military, despite all the sailors . If the Air Force counts...
