Just saw it on C-CPAN. Obama hasn't uttered the words "Islamic terror" or "radical Islam" in the past seven years so I guess it's not too surprising he didn't mention them today. Obama looked like he wished he was somewhere else. That didn't prevent him from getting in the obligatory gun control rhetoric, though. Sigh.

Case in point: he wasn't an Islamic terrorist who pledged allegiance to ISIS and who was under investigation by the FBI. He was merely a legal gun owner.

So, what if he said said "terrorists from the Middle East"? Would that have sufficed, or are only those two options said verbatim acceptable?

People forget that Obama's policy has been to bomb ISIS via conventional and drone airstrikes. He doesn't want this to be seen as retribution for his policies.

So gun control it is, because laws written and filed on a piece of paper in DC stop jihadists from obtaining weapons.

So it's been confirmed that a radical religious follower rather than other sorts of homophobes was behind the issue? Oh, wait, I forgot to mention Islam, Christianity, etc, too. Oops...

Bingo. American citizens can be Islamic in faith as well. Or Christian. Or others...

So if Obama used your magic words, would it have changed anything. Would those dead people be alive -- would Isis put down their arms. Would idiots with guns in the U.S. not kill anyone.

Your post makes no sense. If Obama stood on top of the Washington Monument and shouted "radical islam" -- what difference would that make? Seriously -- how would that change anything. Does Obama need to shout praise jesus and radical islam before killing bin laden?

When you are President and making speeches you can choose any word you want.

The fact is, anyone can call 9/11 before killing people and say they like ISIS -- it doesn't mean they have any real connection with that group -- other than they are a mentally unbalanced individual and was on their way to kill people. If he said "Charles Manson" does that mean that Manson really directed him to do it? I'm not saying this person wasn't really a super fan of Isis, but lets wait until we know all of the facts.

I think its prudent to wait until all the facts are in - and I think its too easy for any fool wanting headlines for killing to profess love for al queada, Islam or ISIS before doing so -- and maybe not have any real connection other than reading stuff on the Internet.

There are reports that he phoned 9-1-1 and pledged allegiance to the Infidel State leader.

That would definitely change things if true. Haven't seen that report myself yet though.

What does that really mean though? Can't any emotionally unbalanced individual say they swear allegiance to anyone or anything before going on their rampage? He could have said Manson, Bin Laden, Bush or anyone. Without actual funding, connections or other facts showing some direct or indirect support -- this could just be a lone wolf loser looking for attention.

Inspiring 'lone wolves' via the Internet is Al Qarda's and ISIS's primary strategy against the West. It's still 100% radical Islamic terrorism.

It means that this was more than a mass murderous hate crime, it also has a terrorism element to it.

Unsurprisingly, Hillary could not bring herself to mention radical Islam in her official statement. Just the usual anodyne pablum about the wonders of the LGBT community and anti-gun rhetoric. Hillary, the candidate who dares to be cautious.
