This could be interesting.
21st century equivilent of fireside chats perhaps?
There is a whole channel on Dish Network that is just a big long ad already.
I hope he runs episodes of Arrested Development.
Good for him. He's keeping his foot on the gas. McCain can't afford to keep up with him. He's already outspending him 3 to 1 by some reports.
I had MSNBC on almost all day and I can't believe the crap that McCain and Palin are saying at their rallies.
abiyng87- that could be the most annoying avatar ever.
Yep, I'll find out what channel this weekend. It was actually pretty good.
Intriguing, but why do they issue this info in advance?
It better not be another Keating 5 documentary... I hope Obama has the balls to create something with no negative content whatsoever. A 30-minute film about Obama and Obama alone, with no mention of McCain, would be very well received by voters at this point.
Younger folks here won't remember this, but years ago candidates did this sort of thing. It's so long ago I can't recall if I saw 30-minute programs by Jimmy Carter or Walter Mondale or whoever, and they tended to run at times like Sunday at 9:30.
Thing was, I sort of thought this idea was dead, what with the proliferation of channels. Thirty minutes on CBS doesn't reach nearly as many people now as it did in, say, 1972.
So many of these companies are tied together, though. It would be interesting if, say, his show aired not only on NBC, but C-NBC, MSNBC, SciFi, USA and Bravo, all of which are NBC properties.
It's a good idea. The long form gives him a chance to get expansive with his ideas.
If you can believe this. One of those "rallies" was billed as a McCain/Palin Anti-Obama Rally.
30 minutes of something unexpected will be a huge draw.
I'd believe anything at this point. I get politics but McCain's campaign has really crossed the line in the past week or so. Him, Barbie and their surrogates are saying such outrageous lies about Obama that it will eventually hurt.
Today, Keating (former OK. gov and campaign co-chair) was on Dennis Miller and said this:
Of course, Obama has already admitted to high school drug in his book.
Yeah, put some headphones on that thing.
I know, and I promise its temporary, I am trying to find a new/good one.
Off topic I know but who in the heck as all that free time to make those little bitty animations ?
Good, because it looks like poor Billy-boy got dragged to and bounced out of the Roxbury.
Doesn't this move convey give a message of lack of frugality? I don't mean that as an attack, but it seems like spending so much for some airtime gives the impression that he isn't that wise with his money. What do you think?
Huge amounts of exposure a mere couple of weeks/days before the election?
I'm not sure how that isnt an advantage, so I'd see it as money well spent.
Isn't the campaign money specifically so he can do this type of media blitz? onward and forward ... or something ...
Obama said a few months ago that he'll do Weekly Podcasts that will be downloadable for free at www.whitehouse.gov
Weekly?! does he realize how much crap the country is in right now? I doubt he will have the time.
well if bush can somehow take months and months of vaca every year surely obama can crank out a 10 minute podcast while still actually getting things done.
