Obama's Approval Rating Hits New Low

Last week, President Obama signed historic health care reform legislation into law -- but his legislative success doesn't seem to have helped his image with the American public. The latest CBS News Poll, conducted between March 29 and April 1, found Americans unhappier than ever with Mr. Obama's handling of health care - and still worried about the state of the economy. President Obama's overall job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 44 percent, down five points from late March, just before the health bill's passage in the House of Representatives. It's down 24 points since his all-time high last April. Forty-one percent of those polled said they disapproved of the president's performance.

Dude, just remember one thing if you're going to post these kinds of threads:

Put some plastic wrap over your keyboard, to protect it from getting sticky. You don't want to have to explain it to the Geek Squad.

Perhaps we should save that for the daily rip-on-Palin threads.

Funny thing, in my experience women dislike her a lot more than men.

She was meant to win over female votes, but I think it had the opposite effect.

If I were an intelligent female I'd be insulted that someone thought I could be so easily pandered to and exploited.

If the GOP was trying to appeal to a voter's intelligence I think they need to go back to the drawing board.

    What he said.

<Maher> Fine, actually. And how's that whole Hooked on Phonics thing working for Palin? </Maher>

Incidentally, dude, I hate to break your hard-on, but here's another recent post-victory poll on Obama's popularity:

So...polling that states a majority of Americans want healthcare reform is dismissed, but polling that states the president's approval is down is a huge deal?

    Silly putty narrative. Nice.

Fodder to help you answer that question about how America is worse under Obama and backup reasoning for his sinking poll numbers =>

Income falls 3.2% during Obama's term
    The Washington Times

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/apr/13/personal-income-falls-32-during-obamas-15-months/
Real personal income for Americans - excluding government payouts such as Social Security - has fallen by 3.2 percent since President Obama took office in January 2009, according to the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis.

    INT credibility: none.

Do we need to talk again about while Poll numbers mean nothing to no one but those who wish to conduct them and use them for their own purposes?

Was this poll conducted in my home town? My parents? My cousin? Did they contact any actively deployed military members who are, of course, American citizens?

    No?

Then this poll is moot as it doesn't reflect a true picture of the America public at large.

And your proof that America would have been better off with Hanoi John and Caribou Barbie? Oh, that's right. They lost. Build a bridge and GTF over it. If more right-wingnuts actually gave a crap about America and their fellow Americans, we might actually have made more progress. Instead your team is too busy scoring political points and being obstructionist. How proud you must be.

Obama sunk down to slimy cockroach level... even The Los Angeles Times acknowledges the fact now...

Red flag for a sinking Obama: Americans now prefer Hillary Clinton

It is, of course, a really silly thing to even think about, given the clout of the Chicago Machine boys currently occupying the White House. But, just say, the Real Great Talker continues his spiraling descent in the polls over the next 12-18 months; already the Democrat is barely tied with Any Republican in opinion polls looking toward 2012. Even worse, a majority of Americans have already decided they don't want Obama to have a second term.

He's still more popular than Palin.

CNN Poll: Who wins an Obama vs. Palin matchup?
    CNN
    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...s-an-obama-vs-palin-matchup/?fbid=hzUO2hXyi8Y
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday also indicates that President Barack Obama would top the former Alaska governor by double digits in a possible 2012 general election showdown.

The poll shows Obama topping Romney 53 percent to 45 percent, beating Huckabee 54 percent to 45 percent, defeating Gingrich 55 percent to 43 percent and topping Palin 55 percent to 42.

The poll found that 61 percent of Americans think Palin is not a typical politician, and half see her as honest and trustworthy. But 54 percent say they don't agree with her on the issues, 56 percent say she is not a strong and decisive leader, and 69 percent say she is not qualified to be president. Palin is popular in the South and in rural areas, but her unfavorable rating is at or near 60 percent among women, suburbanites, Independents, and in the Northeast and West.

Interestingly, Clinton polls more favorably than any Democrat or Republican. You had better hope she doesn't run in 2012.

Did you read the Los Angeles Times article I cited? For a president in only his second year Obama has terrible ratings and this from a formerly friendly liberal newspaper that applauded Obama all through the campaign!

Just this week, the Associated Press noted that Obama’s approval hits new low while opposition to ObamaCare hits new high!

AP-GfK Poll: Obama slips, other Dems slide, too
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100414/ap_on_bi_ge/us_ap_poll_democratic_woes

Agree with you here... Democrats will abandon Barack and back Hillary in 2012...

The numbers in your links are shakey for a '94-style Congress coup and you think they support Hillary challenging a sitting President for the nomination?

And you say liberals live in a dream world...
