According to the Age, it's supposed to start at 1930 GMT, so just do the math for your timezone (allot for daylight savings, you S. Hemisphere guys) and you should be set.

2:30pm EST, 11:30am PST... about ten minutes time.

    Also on CNN.

Pictures are up now. Reporters milling about. Lots of flags, blue curtain with uplighting, the words 'president-elect' on podium signage.

Yep, won't be long now - they are all just getting set up and what not.

Can't wait for Fox to jump on him for not laying out specifics. There is no possible way he can, hes not president yet, and im sure if he were to certain *cough* groups would take actions to block his plans before he can even enact them.

I don't know what to make of the Nancy Reagan "seance" comment. Was that a reference to something someone else said at some point? Sounded cringeworthy. Overall it was a good press conference I think.

I know, the final choice of White House puppy is a tough one.

Co-worker of mine made a joke about that on Wednesday, saying it's a different world now.

Rottweiler for the White House dog, particularly one that morphs into Snoop Dogg, hell of a big yard for a backyard ribs BBQ, Fried chicken, chitterlings, and Soul Food Sundays.

This guy is black, and is joking, BTW.

And Obama's already had more pressers as POTUS-elect than Palin managed over her entire time as VP candidate...

That type of question often makes politicians angry and they give it a dismissive one word answer that makes them look like humorless old gits, I mean what would McCain have said to that type of thing.

Obama took it straight and got on with it.

McCain has a good sense of humor actually. I think he would've responded that he's thinking of calling the dog "Letterman", "Tina Fey" or "Couric".

Maybe you scream, "Screw it, we'll do it LIVE! We'll do it LIVE!"
I think McCain would have made a joke. He's a cut-up at heart, and loves the press. This campaign has been gruelling for him. Like a teenage boy being told not to hang with the thugs after gorging on rap all day.

Who could forget his comical version of bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, calling his wife a **** and telling reporters to **** themselves...

I do take your point about his SNL stuff. However, my point still remains, not all politicians take those type of questions the right way.

There we go, AP got to it.

Obama slips in reference to seance by Nancy Reagan

So... I guess it was a Clinton jab and simply some black humor. Buh-dum-bum.
