I guess then he has no reason to be there.

I'm sure you supporters will just play this off as he did not mean that or because of GOP he can't do anything.

It means you need to have the people demand change so loudly and so forcefully that Washington has no choice but to listen or be kicked to the curb.

Without the people, as we have seen, wonderful ideas whither on the vine while terrible, faulty ideas gain traction (see teapublicans).

Pretty hard to what he meant when there's no context in your link. Nice right wing source too.

I thought he was changing the flag from the inside?

I watched the forum. It was a pitch for people to vote.

He said for people to become active and vote. To pressure their representatives for change.

    And this is bad how?

They got nothing. So they have to try to twist even the good things now.

Do you really need to ask why motivating a greater proportion of the population to vote is bad for a certain political party?

Dumb comment, but everyone has gaffes. There are so many posts pointing these out. I know most posts are against the republicans gaffes, so we feel we have to point out when the democrats do it as well. We all make mistakes in comments we make. The question is does he believe what he said, or was it just a speaking error? If he believes this then I would have concerns if he just misspoke then I am not that concerned.

So it was horribly taken out of context. I'm sure edk99 will quickly edit the OP now that he's aware of the dishonesty in presenting the quote the way he did.

You can google the quote above which gives text and a video. I won't link to the commercial sites.

No supporters are just intelligent enough to know how to understand something in context, something republicans often fail to do (not all republicans mind you, but every single one that ran with the "you didn't build that" line is a prime example of the kind I am talking about).

Mitt Romney said it to. Does that mean republicans won't vote for him either?

While I think Romney is trying to get something positive out of all these ridiculous attacks, let's be real here. Healthcare reform was hardly done from the outside. I seem to recall all kinds of back room deals to get it done. The definition of insider deals.

The video snippet from the OP was nine seconds long.

Bandwidth is not so precious that they couldn't have included the next sentence, which would have lent at least some meaning to the one they showed.

    They are desperate.

This is true. It was obviously rather empty rhetoric on obamas behalf to rally the troops to vote and be involved in the political process.

It really is epic. Everyday it's something else. How much longer until the money men bring in others to run the campaign?
