Odd mail problem

For the last week or so, Mac mail on my laptop, but not on my iMac, has been trying to send emails from my email address that others have sent to me. I have also been re-receiving emails originally received weeks ago and attempting to resend emails sent weeks ago. I have no idea what is going on here. Is this a virus? Any help would be appreciated.
