Oddly, my factory sealed 2015 Air came preinstalled with 10.13 (High Sierra). Further digging it was manufactured in Aug. 2017 and according to Apple site it is has warranty until 2019.

2015 11" Air originally had OS X El Capitan. Since mine preinstalled with High Sierra, does that mean I can NOT roll back to OS X El Capitan?

Was this an educational build? Mainstream 11" cut off in 2016.

You should be able to load/run Yosemite and El Capitan as your model initially shipped with it. Internet Recovery probably goes to High Sierra. Try an Internet Recovery and see what pops up. command-option-R

Thanks for the tip. I did just that and it pulled High Sierra from Apple servers and that means the machine was built with that OS. So sadly, I can't roll back the OS... :(

@Audit13 I installed an app that checks battery health and one of its feature is displaying the details of the Mac or iOS device.

Interesting that Apple was still making the 11" Air after it stopped selling this model. Perhaps they had a ton of parts remaining....
