Pretty much the title. Also the background elements in the mix seems a little veiled/distant. Anyone else with the same issue?

For those of us who skipped 14.6, what's the story with the overheating on 14.7? Is it safe to update yet?

I noticed this in 14.7. Volume is definitely a lot lower. Pretty sure I read somewhere on this forum that bass has been reduced and I noticed that as well.

Mine still feel warm when I hover my hand slightly above the screen on top. However, I only started checking this after reading the heating reports and my volume buttons didn’t turn off in 14.6 so I’m not sure if that warmth is normal or not.

Thank you, so its not a hardware issue on my units then. Well, lets hope for a fix ASAP.

One of my HomePods on 14.7 just bricked itself.
Oh jeez… this is out of control. Any warning signs prior to or just decided to take an eternal nap for no apparent reason?

It almost feels like Apple is killing them off one by one so they don’t have to deal with them anymore.

No warning signs at all. I noticed in the home app that it was offline. I tried to interact with it by touching the top…nothing. Hey Siri as well. Removed from the home app, unplugged it and plugged it back in…nothing. There is literally no difference between having it plugged in or not.

It’s ridiculous.

The alarm on it literally woke me up in the morning that same day.

wth is going on with this… it’s literally exasperating that you can’t trust even using them at all in case they brick themselves…
(I have submitted feedback and would urge everyone else with overheating/bricked homepods to do so too)

I cant believe thats the case, but maybe there is some cause and effect; the eol of OG homepods was unusually abrupt and hard to understand when the replacement is inferior in almost every way…
