    i have a 3G on 4.2.1, BB 05.15.04-6.4_M3S2

    SHSH off tinyumbrella:
    iPhone3G 4.0 (8A293)
    iPhone3G 4.0.1 (8A306)
    iPhone3G 4.0.2 (8A400)
    iPhone3G 4.1 (8B117)
    iPhone3G 4.2.1 (8C148)
    iPhone3G 4.2b3 (8C5115c)

I know how to downgrade to 4.0.1 and jailbreak it, is an unlock possible without going to 6.15?

Downgrading won't change the baseband correct?

Right. Whatever basedband you have now will stay the same.

I recommend using TinyUmbrella to downgrade.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask! :)

    thanks for the quick response!
i was hoping to be wrong. i usually am unless i want to be! the tinyumbrella thing is tss server and itunes right?

actually no need to downgrade... if i can't unlock it i'll just jb and leave it alone.

    You're welcome! :)

If you were to downgrade in the future for whatever reason, you'd have to plug your iPhone, then start tss server (like you mentioned) then you would shift+click in iTunes (Don't know of the Mac key command) and browse for whatever firmware you were to have the shsh blobs for.
After that you would need to "kick out of recovery mode" from TinyUmbrella.

But yeah, if you are thinking of doing it in order to unlock, don't waste your time. ;)

Your baseband is most likely being worked on. (To be unlocked)
