Old 256 GB OCZ Vertex SSD in new MBP?

Last year I installed a OCZ Vertex 256 GB SSD in my 2006 vintage 15" MBP.

I'm considering buying a new 15" MBP and would like to know if I can simply swap out the stock mechanical drive with my existing SSD and pick up where I left off?

Or, will I have to completely reinstall my files from TM backup after installing the SSD?
