    Shared from a group post:

‘The shooter was a felon who was not allowed to hold much less own a firearm.
The rifle was an illegally configured rifle, another law broken.
The shooter was transporting in a form the law considers to be a loaded weapon, another law broken.
The shooter discharged a firearm within city limits, another law broken.
The shooter fired at law enforcement, another BIG law broken.
The shooter committee MURDER, another law broken.

These are just the 'highlights', there were many other laws broken by this criminal.

What other new law would have been the one that made hm say 'Okay, now that's just one too many laws to break, never mind I'll just go home'?

This is neither sarcasm nor mockery, it is a serious question for those demanding more laws.

Think of firearm ownership as your favorite pie.

Every time someone ****s up, you have to give away a piece of the pie.

Giving away a piece of your pie doesn’t accomplish anything other than making someone else feel good.

Eventually there’s no more pie left, and the recipient is now fat, dumb and happy.

But you could use that argument about most laws. Part of the purpose of a law is to give us guidelines about what is acceptable in society. People who have no self-control don't care about any law.

Laws mean nothing unless they are enforced and America is dreadful at tackling gun felonies as demonstrated here and in many other stories. There’s no point having a legal system at all if laws are deemed stupid and people fight to have as little as possible.

    Have you got examples?

None of the laws you listed in your OP were stupid, they are just not enforced strongly enough. It’s the same with any law, they will be broken but the punishment needs to outweigh the risk of being caught. Your country allows a lot of responsibility in regards to weapons but a piss poor system behind it.

California ammo law, which allows criminals to legally supply gangs with large amounts of ammo while restricting the honest individual from obtaining ammo.

Any firearms law based on how a firearm looks. Laws that ban certain features such as pistol gripes, barrel shrouds, and collapsible stocks.

The 100% background checks that people say 90% of the population wants (hint: they don’t, it’s a lie).

    Gun Free Zone Laws.

The laws that he listed aren’t stupid. The point is we have people trying to pass laws that they don’t understand. These laws will not affect the criminal, only the law abiding citizen.

I’ll give you more after work if you like.

You have a law that allows criminals to supply gangs with large amounts of ammo but limits legal gun owners? That sounds made up to me.

Why do you need guns to look like they belong in the military anyway? Intimidation?

I think gun free zones are a great idea otherwise you get meatheads strolling around with pistols on their hips and AR-15’s across their backs like they are the next Rambo. Sometimes that sort of conflict and attention is best left to the imagination and away from the general public. The fact gun free zones are needed to prevent these types of idiots pretending they are cowboys in public is what amuses me to be honest.
