Open source facetime

    Whatever happened with that?Weren't they supposed to make the facetime protocol and "Open Standard"?

    That's what Apple said, but they've never been particularly good at following through on promises about Openness.

    Use Tango. It's cross platform and works over network data, not just while connected to wifi.

    I use tango.I just wanted to know if apple ever open sourced the protocol guess not :(

    Big difference between "open standard" and "open source".

    My understanding was that it was based on a mixture of open web standards and could therefore be implemented by others - it just hadn't been.
