Ok I wasn't sure whether or not to post this under hardware, software, or programming but I think it is hardware related so here it is.

I've been learning OpenGL lately, and I noticed that whenever my computer displays anything in OpenGL it makes a whining noise. I don't think this is coming out of my speakers, it sounds more like its coming from the screen. Whenever I have something on the screen that rotates you can actually hear the whine pulsating. This happens whether I program using Glut or SDL or Cocoa... has anyone ever experienced this?

I'll find a 3D game and try it today with no sound on to see if it gives the same result. The programs work just fine other than the noise and I don't believe I have any code errors.

It's probably nothing to worry about. My Thinkpad screen makes a perceptible whining sound when I minimize or maximize windows. I haven't tried with games. I don't know if it's just my PC, or if I never noticed with other laptops.
