This is a MacBook Pro 2.16 core duo from 2006. My optical dive finished burning it's last DVD I suspect.
The drive accepts DVD's but does not mount them, seems like it is trying for a good 30 seconds then it is ejected. From feeling the casing and listening it seems like they are not spinning up. I reset the power management to no avail. Problem is with all DVD's now.
Any other advice on ways to troubleshoot and if the drive is bad has anyone replaced these with an upgraded version? Can you recommend a good replacement? Thanks in advance.
