Congrats to all those hard working folks here in Oregon and up in Alaska for making Oregon the 3rd. state to legalize the recreational use of marijuana and Alaska for being the 4th. state to do it.

I would add Washington D.C. but it's not a state and the new Red Congress could stop D.C. from enacting the law.

Woohoo! Smoke up Oregon! 47 more to go. And it's probably time for the Feds to start reevaluating things. Perhaps our new congress will pass a bill to leave marijuana laws to the states and change it's classification.......ha! Yeah right!

You ever been to Portland? What's to be upset about? It's always full of wasters and stoners. May as well save the jail space and make the police actually go do something valuable for society other than harassing people for minor violations.

Well the laws in Washington and Colorado aren't identical. I'd much rather have the laws from Colorado than Washington.

What's your excuse gonna be when every other state legalizes in the upcoming years? Funny how every time it goes to popular vote, it wins. The future for marijuana in America is looking bright.

It took Colorado two times to legalize marijuana.

Excuse for what? Lots of people setting themselves up for not being to pass drug tests for a job, and risking federal indictment?

    More power to them.

It isn't looking good for Alaska, and medical marijuana failed in Florida.

Actually it took a long time for Oregon to get it because of rural Oregon is very republican. man I hate the smell of pot now it will be everywhere. but there are so many shops popping up it has been crazy.

Marijuana didn't make it in OR last time. That version went silly far.

This one has various restrictions, intended to keep use private. Practice is of course, another matter.

Oregon becomes 3rd. State to Legalize Marijuana

thats good. when I would ride home on my bike I could smell the people smoking pot in their houses. now I smell it when they drive by. I even smelled it at a church and there was nothing else around no cars and the church took up the whole block.

The feds don't spend a lot of time prosecuting stoners.

    ----------

Florida still did pretty good, got something like 57% of the 60% needed. Next time around it could make it.

It's actually cigarettes that should be banned. The whole thing is backwards.

Alaska might have become the 4th state to legalize.

No, excuses for when the will of the people directly contradicts your agenda. Being that I'm against everything you stand for, that makes me happy.

Funny how you're so anti-freedom and anti-state rights when it's something you vehemently disagree with. Federal indictment huh? And how do we expect that to happen, unless we're selling weed on federal property? Sounds more like your wet dream than actual reality.

    ----------

5 point lead on the yes vote so far, but only 30% of the vote is in. They're being slow.

    ----------

Technarchy may not be so great with geography, but there are many parts of Oregon that are not called Portland. But of course we need to keep coming up with excuses as to why every place that chooses to excercise common sense is a terrible place full of stoners and losers. This election may have not been so great for the democrats, but we liberals are still winning the culture war in this country. Nice to watch.

Or we could just let adults decide for themselves, rather than the US government act as our collective mom.
