http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2014/02/27/bill_o_reilly_asks_what_are_the_downsides_of_a_woman_president_we_have_answers.html

Wednesday night on the O’Reilly Factor, the eponymous host invited two female guests to weigh in on a pressing question. “There has got to be some downside to having a woman president, right?” O'Reilly queried USA Today columnist Kristen Powers and Republican strategist Kate Obenshaim. When they responded with blank looks, O'Reilly started spitballing: “When you’re president of the United States you have to deal with people like Putin, you have got to deal with the real ornery Mullahs in Iran," he said. "Look, the Mullahs in Iran, they think women are, like, subspecies.”

O'Reilly should just come out and say that HE thinks women are a subspecies instead of projecting his own beliefs on other people.

As long as the US is not planning on dealing with any islamic countries they should be fine.

Like Indonesia, containing the world's largest Muslim population, where Megawati Sukarnoputri and the fourth woman to lead a Muslim nation was the president for over three years? Others have included Benazir Bhutto and leaders of Bangladesh, as well as leaders of Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Senegal. According to Wikipedia, nearly one third of the Egypt's parliament consists of women, a far higher proportion of women in office than the United States.

And if you think Margaret Thatcher, Angela Merkel and Julia Gillard, to name just three leaders, had any problems dealing with any Gulf states then you clearly don't know much about world affairs and modern history.

Adults are in the room. Frankly, I'd be embarrassed to post just a fraction of the lazy, unthinking, ignorant, xenophobic, blatantly white supremacist, half-baked, juvenile, small-minded parochial and prejudicial garbage that makes up the bulk of your posting history.

I think seeing a woman lead the United States is exactly what Islamic fundamentalist countries need right now.

Might help spur some change.

There are plenty of other countries that have female Heads of State who deal with Islamic countries. Has this ever been an issue for any of them?

There you go again. You've been told a hundred times, you can't compare the US with other countries.

The real question should be .......

Who's going to be hated the most, a black president or a women president?

I would love to see someone like Condoleezza Rice be the president, then we could watch the hypocrites on left show their racist and sexist ways.

btw anyone see the democratic candidate in Fl talk about having illegals around to clean your hotel room! When a GOP guy does this-its headlines and camera lights-but a liberal female-well we quietly poo poo it.
Until the left stops being one way about racism and sexism there can be no civil discourse.
You will see very little if any coverage on mainstream (left) media, some but little, it lights up the right media (newsman, media matters)-the hypocrisy is deafening.

You pick a bunch of the most secular countries to state your case? How about Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, or Iran... you know.. countries we actually have conflicts with?

And if you think Margaret Thatcher, Angela Merkel and Julia Gillard, to name just three leaders, had any problems dealing with any Gulf states then you clearly don't know much about world affairs and modern history.
Dealing with people is easier when you are funneling money into their countries, when you have a conflict and the other side actually doesn't like you there are going to be other issues. Margaret thatcher had been known to cover her head during meetings with Islamic states, Merkel has not, but then again they aren't in the same position as the US in regards to dealing with these countries.

The real question is what do you do when the leader of one of the middle eastern states demands that your president wear a hijab or they aren't going to meet with you? Bow down to the request?

What change? Aren't all islamic countries civil toward women and deal with them on an equal playing field? Thats what I am picking up from the liberal left here.

Really?

Quote one of the liberal left here who've said that.

If you can't, you've just spun another straw man.

You've been building up quite the army lately.

You do have racists on the right and left. But the main difference is the politicians on the right are the ones trying to implement and uphold racist views. A huge portion of voters on the right are in agreement with it. The left has too much of an anti racist majority for any racist left voters to have any say so.

Oh? Why just stop with Hillary? Why not ask Condoleeza?

You obviously don't get that someone visiting another's country may do this just out of respect. you know.. When in Rome…

But then again, I believe Blue Velvet called it right.

Except when Rome treats women like second class citizens, then you probably shouldn't bow down to it.

(a) She's not a head of state, and (b) what's wrong with being respectful of foreign customs? That's called diplomacy, instead of being a dick/intentionally antagonistic.

You're a John Bolton fan, aren't you?
She's the current liberal wet dream when talking about presidential candidates that are women.

Shes already shown that she is willing to back down when visiting the middle east though, so that might make it a bit easier.. for them.

Being forced to wear something to cover your head/face just because of your sex is not respectful, its disgusting.

Good luck with her. She's way too close to the war in Iraq to get elected, not to mention Bush.

Yawn. Republicans say things like this and much worse several times a day. No equivalency here.

You should be directing your anger towards ALL female secretaries of state, instead of just Clinton, as you completely ignored that Rice did the same. Otherwise, you fall into "Do as I say, not as I do".

You lose all credibility here.

Both sides have racists and sexists, the Democrats are just a lot less likely to legislate on their prejudices.

Edit: Since when it the actual left wing (which means liberal) media mainstream?
