Those dealers apparently recalled the Muslims that attended flying schools in the United States and who indicated they were only looking to learn flying — not taking off, not landing.

Yes, but this incident points to a bigger problem.....

If he tried to buy super strong body armor, then spoke in Arabic (as CNN is reporting) and then authorities were contacted (who is yet to be revealed) then why wasn't he stopped?

I heard on CNN that he even had Facebook ramblings, and even had issues of wanting to kill people as far back as in elementary school.

My God...how many signs do you need before someone does something? This horrible tragedy was all so preventable if only someone somewhere had just listened and took the right action.

Yes. So along with the grand jury for the wife for not reporting him, there ought to be another one for various government agencies for the same reason!

Well one of the goals of the Republican Party has been to make things as inefficient and ineffective as possible by gutting budgets so agencies can't properly do their jobs.

do we get to blame Obama since it happened under his watch?.

the guy had serious issues, nothing stopped him from legally getting guns, Elliot Rodgers laws could help out here IF they were implemented across the nation.

Anybody asking for body armor should have their information forwarded to the police for questioning, white, black, brown or yellow.

Ditto, but if he lived he would have sued for discrimination or something. Genuinely innocent people who get guns for the appropriate reasons are going to deal with more as a result of all this.

Neither does private industry. But these glib generalizations of how government = always bad and big business = always benign that can never do any wrong are just bull**** too.

    You gotta love it.
If he'd survived he could have sued the gun dealers and the ACLU would have supported him.

No, the government is prevented from denying selling anyone a weapon if they haven't been convicted of anything.

Because government always fails at some point. When will people learn?

Apparently you missed the part where they wasted a ton of taxpayer money screening and investigating the guy and still failed.

The FBI didn't have enough evidence to press charges, and the government is prevented from adding terror suspects to the no gun sale registry, what else did you expect would happen? What would you do to go about fixing this glaring issue?
    --- Post Merged, Jun 16, 2016 ---
That's probably because merely looking at something considered suspect, and screaming hateful crap on the internet isn't considered a criminal activity. It's reason for suspicion, but not an legal offense in and of itself.

We have all these pesky laws in place that prevented the FBI from doing what you think it should've done.

    Very True.

That's why Hillary looks good to the voters, her cronyism within the government, absolves her from accountability. Her felonious deeds are whitewashed, her excuses believed, her path paved with armed secret service personnel to keep her safe.

    It's great to be HRC!

You know when they run the background checks when you're buying a gun, and it goes NO! That thing.
