OSX won't load

Hi,
Ok, now it is happening almost every day.
I start my Powerbook (TiBook), get the Apple logo with the spinning dial underneath, it switches to the blue screen, then gets stuck there. I have to shut off the Mac, restart it and again, I get the Apple logo w spining dial, then the Load OSX bar and up I am. But why the need to restart??
