    effagy = effigy

    quite = quiet

    Apart from those corrections I have nothing to add until you provide some evidence.

    Here's what he's on about.

    And I'm not sure whether the effigy misspelling should be taken as an anti-gay slur or not.

    No. It's not anyone's responsibility to bring it up. Making some snarky comment about this forum and the people that post here and without a link makes this a thread that's near worthless.

    At least the crickets are comprehensible. :eek: You'll get more replies if you post a source link, an excerpt, and write your post in English or any other generally recognized human language.

    So someone in LA hung an effigy of Palin from a noose and depicted McCain being burnt alive in his chimney. I'm a liberal who's going to vote for Obama. Do I find it offensive? Yes. Bad taste? Yes.

    I find it even in more bad taste than incomprehensible grammar and sentence structure. How's that for an attempt at not being hypocritical?

    Then why didn't you or the OP post it? Or can you only react?

    That's messed up, I didn't hear the voice on the video. What is their lame excuse?

    Edit: quick posts with details, now I read it. Still messed up.

    There isn't one of course. It's just blind hatred. And of course, I find it offensive. It's horrible. You don't do that to anyone. I guess Delta and ufcgrad expected us to react differently.

    You want to know what the difference is ?

    This is according to the video posted and the interview with the two guys that did it.

    The two guys did it out of humor during Halloween in West Hollywood. I agree it's in bad taste however the one that had Obama hanging was done out of hatred.

    But I suppose you won't see the difference.

    This is the first thread I saw and the first I heard of the story. So they didn't post about it? and it is everybody else's fault? :p

    I find it both offensive and tasteless.

    That said, there is a difference between a hung black man and a hung white woman.

    That display definitely crosses the line. Shouldn't have been done. No, it's not just "Halloween art" -- it's despicable. Even the homeowner admits that if it had been Obama, there would have been a much nastier reaction.

    I say it's despicable regardless of who's being "hanged." It's also despicable that misogyny is tolerated more than racial hatred in this country.

    Didn't stop me from voting for Obama today, but it's despicable nonetheless.

    Happy now, Delta 608?

    After watching the video, I can appreciate the difference.

    In no way am I defending them; regardless of intent, it's extremely distasteful. I'm just not sure the originators realized how distasteful and offensive their actions really were.

    I think the fact one situation is even more volatile and reprehensible than the other makes both displays horribly inappropriate. I'll leave the Palin humour to Tina Fey, and give all candidates the respect the offices they seek demands.

    Typical conservative MO. And now that I got a chance to read about it, it wasn't as bad as I thought, but still damn stupid. These guys should know better.

    Oh- I'm sure he's not. Anybody else notice the post-n-run?
