PayPal for international buyers?

Hello,

I put my iPhone on Craigslist today and someone from Nigeria offered to buy it from me for $720.*

Hey said he would give me the money via PayPal (which I read is pretty safe, and I have used it before) and once I got a payment confirmation he said then I could ship it out.*

Do you think this is a scam? *What do you suggest I do? *
Also, how much would it be to ship an iPhone to Nigeria? *

Yaaaa. That's what I thought. Anyone else care to chime in?
 
Somebody posted a horror story about PayPal the other day, the short answer is that the buyer in Nigeria will report that you never shipped the phone and PayPal will take the money back. PP always seems to side with buyers, not sellers, and the whole thing will turn into a nightmare.

So yes, it's a scam. Stay clear of it.

Not a good idea. They can definitely set your balance into the negatives and pursue means to collect the due balance if left unpaid.

Not everything in Nigeria is a scam; I've sold and sent a few items to that nation with no issues. But for popular stuff that's both valuable worldwide and easy-to-find on the internet, someone offering you a price so far beyond normal screams scam.
