I know there has been numerous thread on this topic but none offered a good answer and I also searched http://www.xlr8yourmac.com but nothing really helped. I am looking for the cheapest way to get my PowerMac on my wireless network. I have looked at external (ethernet and USB) but both seem a little expensive and unstable. I have also heard that any wireless adapter with the buffalo chipset will work but I am not sure which don't have that and which do.

Anyone tried any of these?

Oh ya and b/g doesn't really matter as my network is running at b speeds anyway.

Wireless PCI Card

Hi
I have one of the linksys cards model WMP54G
in my G4 Tower. I think you need at least OSX 10.3. The mac just sees the card as an apple airport card. I bought this so I could get 802.11 G as the apple airport card only gives 802.11 B

hope this helps

The only Linksys Wireless G PCI Cards that are supported by Apple are the v.2 cards.

Read my thread, it may help you out, it has more info about this problem.
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/94067/

Also, i found out that NewEgg carries a V.2 card. If you want to make sure it is a v.2, then just click on the product link button on that item page (lower left hand side of page). This will take you to Linksys' webpage for this item. When there, drag the picture of the item to your desktop. The picture name will tell you what it is, it should be: wmp54g_v2.jpg, and not wmp54g_v4.jpg
