Pence and now Biden have both launched PACs. What does that mean for 2020?

It means they are raising money and so a lot of money will be spent. I think that's all we can draw at this time.

But why did both of them decide to do this now? It must have some significance of some sort since neither man chose to do so before.

They can use the PACs to help other candidates running in 2018 and beyond.
If Trump decides to not run for a second term (provided he lasts that long), Pence would have a good head start on funding his own run.

Yeah well, if Pence is shooting for that option, he better be getting some wins on the board. Being trotted out to say something only to be proven wrong and embarrassed later by your boss or people like Flynn contradicting you isn't exactly an accomplishment. It says "hey, I am easily duped and out of the loop!" Not a great campaign slogan.

Never said he would be a good candidate. I personally would not vote for him.
I'm a centrist that leans conservative. Pence leans so far right that he's practically laying on his side.

I'm going to have a massive headache come 2020. That's what it means.

I'm guessing Pence is getting ready in case Trump doesn't make it through this term or doesn't run again. Biden is probably just wishing he had run this last time and doesn't want to miss the next time.

It means come 2020 we're going to have two people running: one a guy almost 80 years old, and the other a guy who thinks it's 80 years ago.

I don think there is any significance. It's just coincidence.
