what exactly does it mean to 'support the troops'?

I wish this was getting more coverage. It amazes me that people don't see things for what they really are and just listen to what they tell people. We knew this a long time ago, even before those troops asked Rummie about it at that press conference. People are sick of Iraq anyway, but news like this is only preaching to the converted.
God damn that pisses me off. I mean, we knew it already, but damn... 300 Americans we could have saved if someone had been willing to cut through the red tape and GET'R'DONE!
Supporting the troops means stretching the military to the breaking point for no good reason, cutting veterans benefits, and not providing either up-armored humvees or body armor. At least to this government.
Plenty of money for mercenaries, but not enough to protect the troops who are fighting for America, not Blackwater's bottom line. Makes me ill.
