In the past when moving files amongst different external HDs and different computers (work/home/friends & family etc) I've found that "permissions" drives me nuts! Anyone have and suggestions for getting around this?
I've got a replacement MBP coming and am going to have to get files from one to the other and dread running up against "permission" issues down the road. I've got an external drive w/ files from home (I'm traveling overseas) and just know I'm going to have issues w/ them since they were taken off a desktop computer....who knows if I can even open them.
Obviously when working on one computer this is never an issue but man o man it can make you pull your head out when it prevents you from working w/ a document. Anyone know how to turn permissions off or work around this when you're blocked?
