Welcome to the Cliché Celebration Thread. So you shot a subject that's about as novel as a Newton, but gosh darnit, you like it. Bring it on! Here's your chance to revel in the realm of the 'already done'. In response to a tangent that developed in the Irrational dislikes thread, I thought it would be fun to trot out our photographic clichés and let them shine. So dig up your best insect on a flower, lone tree in a big field, or self portrait in a mirror...if you're stuck for good clichés, you might consult the list I compiled here: link. But there are many more, so don't stop with those! Maybe we'll be able to see why these subjects continue to attract photographers year after year; maybe we'll see just how endless the variations can be on a given theme; maybe we'll just get them all out of our collective system and be spurred on to new, creative heights...or maybe we'll just enjoy poking some fun at ourselves. My own portfolio certainly has its share of old chestnuts. Here are a few to kick off the thread: Doorway of an old building: Homeless person sleeping on a bench: Mountains with only the peaks illuminated: Come on, we've all made our own trips down the roads most traveled, so let's see the results!
