Its so much smoother than having the numbers along the top
I can't stand texting with a number pad. Why would you want that? You have a full keyboard to use!
I know what your saying........I hope so too
Care to show an example and I can tell you yes or now.
I doubt they're changing the keyboard, unless it's bigger.
It's there for me...
The number pad is there in 3.x. You have to turn off MMS in message settings and then you will get the number pad when you are typing a phone number in for text messaging. It shows the full punctation keyboard, because you can send an MMS to an email address.
FYI, when you send an MMS to anyone it actually is always by email. Your phone has an email address and the "inbox" is the messages app. Try it for your self. Send your self an email from computer to your phone. Your phone email address is (212) 555-1234(at)mms.att.net
Your phone number (at) mms.att.net
so its one method or the other.
I send few actual MMSs so I guess I'll stick with emailing lol
hopefully 4.0 brings both options instead of having to choose between them
Are you saying that, in some previous version of the iPhone OS, if you clicked on the _123 button in the SMS app it would bring up a standard number pad for entering numbers instead of the usual offering? That's a cool feature, but I imagine it was changed for consistency's sake and is unlikely to be changed back. Apple's all about UI consistency.
let me tell ya what it was like in the old days .....................
