Anyone using this card in their mac pro, this one does requires One 8-Pin + One 6-Pin? What 980 cards are you guys using and does it run stable even if it needs another 8 pin cable or should I just get a card that is a 6 pin + 6pin

I use a reference EVGA GTX 980. Two 6 pin power connectors. I wanted to keep everything simple. My computer is on 24/7 without any issues.

Just get a 2x 6-pin model. There are factory overclocked ones if that's what you are looking for.

Yeah just get a 2x6pin version, its so much easier and you don't have to worry about power issues. I am using the EVGA Superclocked version with no problems, it's 2x6 pin and it's factory overclocked too!

Don't mean to add to confusion but some cards with an 8 pin don't actually check for all 8 pins connected(no sense pins in last 2 grounds)

Some do check. I am not familiar with that card but, much like 680 before it, I dont think it is physically possible for a 980 to draw too much power for cMP
