I haven't seen this posted yet, but it looks like a senator from Mississippi got sent a letter with poison in it. They found it and took car of it before it got to him so fortunately it doesn't look like anyone was hurt.

I doubt there is any connection, but I find it interesting that this is found the day after the bombings in Boston...

Yeah, I don't see too much to make me think that there is a connection. Just it seems strange that you would have two major things like that so close together unless they were connected. Although it would be nice if they were since the more things these people try the more likely they are to get caught.

There aren't very many radical left wingers in Memphis.

Many? I certainly would not mail the letter from where I lived if it were me.

Example, if I were a right wing nut I would probably go to San Fran to mail something like that. I wouldn't do it from here in Mexico, it would never get there. Then again it might take out someone stealing mail.

This will be a dead thread because the masses won't swarm in to regurgitate their "radical religious right". Just doesn't fit what they stand for.

For sure it would be more lively if it was Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid...

People that send poison to a senator usually have a personal agenda rather than a political one.

Probably not, although there is a possibility, there are other targets that would make more sense than a random senator from Mississippi. However he was apparently one of the Republican senators that helped to stop a filibuster against the gun control bill they've been talking about. So it could just as easily be a radical rightwinger upset about that. But it's probably better not to speculate about it until there are more facts known.

Was it sarin? i thought that was gaseous.

From what a couple of other outlets have been reporting, the letter contained ricin. Are they the same thing?

Many on the left are upset with Obama also right now, especially over social security. It could be anyone.

Ya. It could be anybody but I'm starting to wonder about any relationship between the bombings and these letters.

    Breaking.

I doubt there is any relationship, just making conversation.:)

To me it doesn't matter who either is as long as people like this are caught. A terrorist is a terrorist for whatever reason or ideology.

Moron actually used his real initials when signing the letters.

Very proud that we have some of the dumbest criminals in the world living right here in the good ole USA.

Now that's not fair. They're often at the top for many things. Like teenage pregnancy, meth labs, lynchings and cross burnings :p
