If Poland does pull out, that leaves only the US and UK w/ sizeable forces over there...and it is election time soon in the UK(not that it isn't in the US), but Blair might have some trouble politically if the UK stays...then leaving just the US...I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

Why any country would put its own people at risk to help the US get oil and bases is beyond me.
No doubt allegations of cowardice and "giving in to terrorism" will flow from the mouths of the uninformed.
There's also still Italy and Ukraine. Plus South Korea and Japan are still gearing up.
And It seems Poland is kvetching. Probably if we throw them a bone, like easier visa processing, they'll be back in. They are kind of all about being the U.S.'s "second strongest ally in Europe."
Now that they actually know why they are there they are leaving. Sometimes living in a country that is a world power sucks. Glad we have elections. At least we can get rid of him!
That's wishful thinking, it'll be more like a few billion dollars worth of aid and a free pass to the US while we make the other Europeans wait in line and totally revamp their military and......
Their future is Europe, not the US and they know it.
