Thank you for an absolutely perfect example of why article/thread titles and poll results can be so misleading. I think they have it down to a science, on all sides actually.

    Thanks for the chuckle. :D

What a shocker, a Soros sponsored, left wing communist rag saying people that don't agree with them are most missinformed. I will echo your DUH!!:D

    Hello?

The Huffington Post reported on a study.

They didn't "say" it, the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland did.

It's kinda important to understand that distinction.

    Kinda.

Can you not read? The study was done by the University of Maryland.

This kind of knee jerk dismissal of an idea based on the news agency reporting it is the kind of thing the talking heads do all the time. It's funny to see how it actually gets instilled into people.

    Er, no.

The study was put together by:

You can read the entire report here. and it's called "Misinformation and the 2010 Election: A Study of the US Electorate" which isn't specifically about Fox News.

And the core findings about Fox were these:

I see no reason to celebrate ignorance and a willingness to be taken in by propaganda.

How any organization can seriously spout "fair and balanced" all the time and then run headlines and stories like these at the same time is staggering:

Okay.. I'll call you out. Provide all citations and resources that indicate that these are 'left wing propaganda machine supporters'.

I'll even throw you a bone. From WikiPedia

And also, about the German Marshall Fund:

So come back with some homework done. Cite where these are propaganda engines. If not, 40 whacks and detention. Go.

The goal is to have a discussion based on facts (though facts can be particularly cumbersome to people who wish to maintain ideological purity). You provided a list of organizations that donated to the research group that ran the study, as evidence that the study is biased because the donors are left wing propagandists. What's that assertion based on?

Yes. You gave a list of supporters, then stated that they are "Left wing propaganda machine supporters". I'm asking you to cite any references to prove your assertion; otherwise, your statement is a crock. It isn't up to us to believe you just because you say so; YOU are responsible for presenting evidence to back up your claim. I threw you a couple of bones that show the opposite of your claim. So, what evidence can you provide that validates what you are saying?

And it's quite obvious that you aren't taking a joke if you think that 40 whacks and detention is an insult.

I watch FOX news, and prefer it to the other cable new channels, and feel I am informed fairly well on issues. That said, I want to clarify that I watch FOX NEWS, and not FOX COMMENTARY (Hannity,et.al).

Also, polls are really B.S. in my book, and before believing them one needs to look at who is sponsoring the poll. It is not that difficult to put a poll together and configure it in way to get the results you want.

It isn't a poll, it's a research study looking at misinformation across the electorate and isn't specifically about Fox News. For instance, there are findings in there that point to other misunderstandings that viewers or readers of other networks or papers have about other topics.

The comparatively small section related specifically to Fox News is the section that has been lifted and mainstreamed all over the place, but isn't the core of the report at all.
