Glad Oregon is choosing science over politics, other states need to follow suit.

While the activist faculty take that absolutist approach, is the school continuing to show "An Inconvenient Truth" as required viewing?

    If not, why not?

Because An Inconvenient Truth was way too heavy handed and full of hyperbole.

Agreed, stick to the facts, there's no shortage of them when it comes to climate change, which is covered in the movie but it's also politicized.

Private school and home school, let them misinform their own children all they want but keep it out of public schools.

A major concept in science is that of unending questioning of accepted truth/fact/knowledge. To arbitrarily outlaw such questioning is anti-science politics.

Seems to me that some amount of climate change, century to century, is historical. Reasonably well established for far longer time periods. Okay, I'm not disagreeing at all. Where I do disagree is that man-made CO2 is "the" culprit for present trends. There appears to be a lot of reasonable evidence for other causes.

That said, the present emphasis seems more to be for an increase in political power for the sake of increased power, not for any actual control of alleged causes.

All this will do is make the climate change deniers feel persecuted so they will continue denying it.

Since when is this an argument about anything though?

You're willing to listen to a small amount of research over a vast majority of peer reviewers research just because this topic has become politicized?

Sounds like the anti vac people. I don't even understand why people try to deny this.

It proves that everyone in Oregon is stupid. And Portland is not weird; it's just full of millennial hipsters.

Personally I think it is best to show both sides of a story, and not only one.
