Likely a dumb question but does anyone have experience exchanging an iPhone purchased directly from Apple after the 14 day grace period? I'm on day 17 and the Pro Max models are finally in stock in my area. I ordered the phone on the 9th but, thanks to UPS awesomeness (see my other post), I ended up receiving it late, which put my return/exchange window on the 3rd of this month. Anyway, I love the phone and am coming from a regular 13 so I'm used to the size, but due to eyesight issues I think the PM is the better long-term option with it's larger display. I went to an Apple store the weekend before last and played around with the PM and decided that I could live with the size as a trade-off for said display. Unfortunately, they didn't have any in stock. What's more, I had already mailed my prior phone for trade-in and was therefore unable to just return the 14 Pro until the quoted offer from Apple had been approved, not to mention not having another phone to use for the foreseeable future. Anyway, having made the decision to exchange, I constantly checked the local inventory and it wasn't until today that they seem to finally have stock. So before I get into the whole rigmarole of contacting Apple customer service to likely be told flat-out "no," is it worth trying to walk in the store with inventory of the PM I'm looking to exchange for and asking if it's possible? I'm guessing it's a waste of time and I should just feel fortunate that I ever even got this phone from the expensive electronics blackhole that is UPS to begin with haha.

Only you can answer if it's worth your time to go through all that or will you still be happy with the Pro. No one on the forum can really give you an answer as YMMV with everyone's experience could be different with different stores.

Figured that would be the consensus. Was just hoping to hear stories of encouragement as I've literally never returned anything to Apple. Guess it's worth a shot. I should also mention that I'm planning on purchasing an Apple Watch this coming Saturday so maybe that would be a good time to ask, assuming they still have inventory.

Doesn't hurt to try but I'd say your chances are slim. You might just have to deal with keeping the Pro unless you want to sell it and repurchase the PM..

shouldn't be a problem.. Can try calling apple support.. I was able to exchange mines last year after 30 days...

@gigapocket1 interesting. What was your reasoning if don't mind my asking? And did you do it at an Apple Store? If so, what was your approach?

Pretty sure it’s 14 days after delivery.

Edit: Never mind, I misread your post…
