I have a problem, hopefully someone can help me out. I just updated to the new operating system the other night. However, i was at the inlaws, and it was taking too long. I left while the progress screen was about halfway through backing up the iPod. I came back the next day, all the new software was installed, but all my music and apps, everything was gone. If i go back to their house, and plug into iTunes, will everything be put back onto my iPod? Thanks a million guys!

Yes, just sync to whichever computer you have your apps and music saved on.

now here's another thing, i have almost none of my music on that computer, it's all on my computer at home, well not all of it, a lot of music on my ipod is just music i've ripped from cd's and then deleted from itunes. did it make a full back up of everything that was on my ipod, and will it put it all back on when i plug back into itunes at their house?

A back up doesn't save your music or applications, just settings, text message and etc. Your device will ONLY sync music saved to any one computer. Since you deleted those cd-ripped files in iTunes, they won't be syncing back. That's why you should always store your music on an HD. I hoped that answers your question.
