There's a ghost story somewhere in those pics.

I understand that Stephen King lurks in the PRSI forum. You may have planted the seed for his next book! ;)

Wait. Are all of these people dead when photographed or just a dead family member "posing" with family ?

I hope this doesn't become the next big kitschy retro fad. The world isn't ready for another Weekend at Bernies.

A few decades ago, I knew an gentleman ("Charlie"), who was then in his 90s, that had been the "official" photographer of unidentified corpses that would turn up in a little "frontier" town located in what was during the early 1900s a rather remote part of the New River Gorge of West Virginia. During the era, numerous salons, gambling dens, and houses of ill repute flourished in a area just across the river from the town, and a body or two would often be found washed up along the shoreline that had apparently been tossed off the long, dark railroad bridge that connected the town to the "darker section" located across the river.

The town's undertaker would clean the body up and then telephone for Charlie to come by and photograph the unfortunate fellow, posed is a "respectable" sitting position. The mayor and city council of the town had voted to have this done, thinking that if relatives inquired about missing persons at a later date, the photographs would provide a way to identify missing loved ones.

I know, right? The dead mother is pretty creepy looking. Cute kid though.

This is about the only application of this practice I can think of that isn't both unbearably sad, and morbid beyond belief.

I think they may _all_ be dead.

Though only the kid has the fantastic, “Wait, I’m what???" look ...

I was scrolling through the pics in the link, and when I got to that one I just started laughing. Then I thought, OMFG, that is so wrong so I grabbed the wife and showed her the photos for an am_I_seriously_disturbed cross check.

... got near that one, and scrolled _really_ slow until his face slowly crept onto my monitor. She about died laughing. :D

That kid looks scared to death.

"WHY am I sitting here with my dead mom ? "
