I know everybody is always complaining about unusable Sprint 3G speeds, and sparse LTE service, but in my area I have been pleased with 3G service.
    Post what you've got!

I'm kinda of far from my towers. Usually get good speeds just bad latency.

2.5 down is actually very good for Sprint. Usually their 3G speeds are on par with AT&T Edge speeds. I'm on T-Mobile and my friend often gets similar 3G speeds on his Sprint 4S to the 2G speeds I get on mine.

Your test is done at 10:00 pm. Try running it at 10:00 am on a weekday and get back with me.

I was passing thru Chicago the week before last:

That's what I was hoping for.

    But locally it's despicably bad:

The highest speed I get at my house is 1.20 down but more often than not it's actually slower: presently it's 0.75 down and 0.20 up.

http://www.sprint.com/network claims 80 upgrades in the last six months in my area: 24 voice upgrades, 28 data capacity upgrades and 28 data speed upgrades.

The closest tower to my location is near 98th and Lyndale which is about a mile or just over from here.

All the other Sprint towers in my town (a suburb of Minneapolis) are along Highway 494 (8 towers).
They're all 3 miles to the north of me.

The only tower that is as far or farther south as my location is a tower along Hampshire avenue on a railroad right of way which is near some apartment houses but not near many residential homes.
That one is about 4 miles to the southwest.

So for my whole town it appears there are 10 publicly acknowledged Sprint towers and only two of them
    really apply to my area.

I bet the existing backhaul is on fire it's being overutilized so much.

We don't get LTE until March/April timeframe. We'll have to see how it goes.

These are surprisingly good data speeds. I expected like 5mbps on LTE and nothing about 256k on 3G from all the complains. But I did a thread similar to this and a mod closed it :O wtf

This is Sprint 3g in Orange County, CA even though it says Los Angeles. It was a lot worse when I did a speed test back in September. Maybe it had to do with the time of day rather than Sprint making improvements to their 3g network, too.

I use wifi at work and at home but I'm still hoping for LTE to start up around April. This is a good site to keep up to date on Sprint LTE.

Thumbs up for s4gru, people on this site could learn a lot from that forum and stop spreading misinformation. Lte rollout is well on its way and will very soon surpass AT&T, don't believe? Head over to sensorly and see coverage for your self.

3G in Tempe, AZ. Been on Sprint for 2 years and speeds have definitely been improving the last few month.
