Searched around for a thread like this and couldn't find anything/didnt want to bump a multi-year old thread (if I could have found one) so I made this one.

My camera gear has been restarted after all of my previous gear (lenses included) were stolen.

Here's what I have now:

(Bad picture because taken with old Cybershot...couldnt get a picture worth a crap without a flash)

Canon Digital Rebel XSi w/ IS Kit lens
Canon BG-E5 Battery Grip
Canon Speedlight 430EX
16GB Transcend SDHC
Curious Cat

I've ordered:
Canon 200DG Gadget Bag
Canon Wireless Remote RC1 (Replacing the stolen one)
Still deciding on the next lens to buy, but I'm leaning towards the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens

Post your camera gear, DSLR, SLR, P&S, whatever.

But kit is.

Canon 400d (Rebel XTi)
Canon 430ex speedlite
BG-e3 Grip
Canon RC-1 Remote
Canon 70-200 F/4 L
Sigma 24-70 F/2.8
Crumpler Daily 600 bag

Next lens for me is a Canon 300mm F/4 L with a 1.4 extender

Note to OP the 70-200 F/4 L is a fantastic lens and a very very good price for such a quality lens

This is my outfit for shooting auto races...

Nikon D200 with MB-D200 grip
SB-800 Flash
4 x 4GB CF cards

AF-S 17-55/2.8 DX
50/1.8D
AF-S 70-200/2.8 VR + TC14e

Domke F-2 bag

I think my next lens will be a macro, like the Nikkor AF-S 60/2.8 Micro.

What good is a photo thread without pictures...

All were shot with my 70-200/2.8 VR at the 12 Hours of Sebring this year.
I use shutter priority for panning shots like these.

I recently got myself a 40D. I don't have my secondary on me at the moment, so pics will be coming later.

I have;
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Tamron 28-80mm f/3.5-5 (i think)
Canon RS-80N3 remote

Not much of a kit so far, but it'll grow soon enough. I've only been in dSLR photography for a month or so now.

I want to get;
-some kind of flash. I don't really know what the options are, so I'll do a bit of homework before I spend any money.
-Canon 15mm f/2.8 fisheye
-a zoom lens in the ~70 to 200-300mm range
-a good, steady tripod.

As you can probably tell, i am a complete novice when it comes to lenses and accessories. You'll probably see my threads in the future asking for lens or accessory advice. But to see what carnage I have created now, have a look at my deviantART site (link is in sig).

Those pics are brilliant! What's the exif like for those pics?

I need to get some more glass and a flash :(

Pretty sure you'll love it. Mine is hardly off my camera. Now giving some thought to getting a 1.4 extender to go with it, before I get a 300mm f/4 L IS.

I'm extremely excited for it to come in, I'm hoping it will be here before wednesday so I can take some pictures of a local softball game for a friend. We'll see.

Can you link to the extender?

Is it this one?

I'd probably buy the extender and use it for quite a while before dropping another $1,210 (Amazon price) for the 300mm f/4L IS. As nice of a lens that it is, 300mm is a focal length I can't really see myself using all the time but we'll see how I use the 70-200 and go from there for my next lens purchase.

I'm just excited to own my first "L" lens.

Canon 350D RebelXT
Canon 18-55mm
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Jessops 186cm Tripod
Jessops Photoflash 1600

Looking at purchasing 24-70mm Sigma lens soon.

Nikon D80
18-135mm f 3.5 - 5.6 Nikon DX AF-S with Lens Hood Link
70-300mm f 4 - 5.6 Nikon with Lens Hood Link
Nikon ML-L3 Remote Link
Sunpak 2001UT Tripod Link

I also recently found a Nikon 50mm f 1.8 Lens in my Dads old gear which i wanna try out.

Looking to get a nice flash right now, SB-600 probably. Then later maybe selling both my lenses and getting the 18-200 VR Nikon Lens which looks awesome, but not sure yet.

That's the one, you may find a better deal on e-bay.

but use that with you 70-200 f/4 L and you will end up with a 98-280 f/5.6

Don't go for the 2x extender as you 450 won't autofocus with your new lens

Congrats on you first L lens

Thanks for the tip scott, I'll be sure to stay away from the 2x extender when I go for one :)

Somewhat amusing that in a thread bragging about camera gear, I'd have to use a crappy iPhone picture....

Canon 20D with battery grip
430EX flash, Sto-fen diffuser
Tamron 28-75 (on body)
Canon 50 1.4
Sigma 50-500
Kenko macro tubes
Off-shoe flash cord
Cokin P-series filter holder, Grad. ND, Linear polarizer
Slik pro7000 legs, Manfrotto 701rc2 head (sees double duty as a video tripod)
Manfrotto 679 monopod, 322rc2 head

Various other geegaws and bits and CF cards in bag. Still lusting after: 70-200 2.8IS, 100mm macro, UWA lens from someone, updated 5D MkII (come on, Canon!)

I have a 300 ƒ/2.8 as well. Might be picking up a D300 to complement my D200, either that or a 30" ACD

The D300 might win out because I shoot almost all sports and the 5FPS of the D200 isn't cutting it. I had a D2Hs too but sold it a few months ago to fund something else. Boy is 8FPS sweet. The D300 with grip does 8FPS so its looking like a good choice. But that 30" ACD, o that would be heaven. And no, both is not an option  I sure wish someone would give me 7k so i could buy a D3, and then use the rest for the ACD to look at those beautiful files on
