No - bassy, but not overwhelmingly so...in fact not at all the signature Beats sound...not flat either, but far more balanced.
I thoroughly enjoy the sound signature from mine and I listen to a wide variety of music/spoken word audio
The quality of beats headphones have definitely improved in recent years. I got a free pair of Beats studio 3 with the back to school promotion (which anyone can take advantage of online really, haha). I had the original solos like 8 years ago, and absolutely hated them. I thought the Studio 3s sound really good.

What's wrong with the statement is the word 'nothing':- "We listened to real athletes and we heard that nothing was more important than sound" is the fact that to athletes there are a multitude of things more important than sound, for example fitness, strength (physical and mental), diet, focus, discipline and recovery are all more important than sound.
Music can help with focus but to say nothing is more important than sound is in my opinion BS.
pretty sure they were referring to what was important to them in headphones, not what was important in life or their career. Geez.

Am I the only one who can't get these to fit, it's not due to the tips and changing the size of them it's the actual construction, they sit too far back on my ears and the earphone tip goes nowhere near my ear canal, i've never had this, my airpods fit ok, my bose soundsports fit great but this ear hook seems really small, i've tried some other ear hook styles and they fit alright so I don't know if it is just the way my ears are or what but i've not heard anyone esle complain about the hook

I believe that you don’t know what the survey showed. You thinking that you do is the unbelievable part.
I would say that the chances are greater that any survey Apple gave them was in relation to headphones, and not nutrition, fitness, world peace, climate change, crime rates, etc. Dunno why people would interpret it any other way for an audio product, tbh, but for some reason there’s more than one in this thread that have.

Could just be they're not for you due to the shape of your ears? AirPods only fit snugly for me if I use the silicon sleeves - but Powerbeats Pro are a much better fit.

Headphones are always very much a personal thing due to fit, you'll never get a design which works for all people unfortunately.

Great point! Thank you. Glad one person understands.

Thank you. I had the 1's and 2's and the bass just ruined many genres as it was overwhelming. I would love a companion EQ app similar to Jaybird.

So you think real athletes would answer an apple survey and say sound is more important than fitness in their chosen field of athletics, come on you don't really believe that do you?
Just to be clear here: We are talking about headphones that athletes would want to use, right?

You seem to be missing the forest for the trees here. Fitness methods and workout routines or how to how to stay in shape wasn't presumably being asked.

Ergo, what I can see in the Powerbeats Pro is that it seems to be designed around what an athlete working out would presumably want to have. (whether by survey, feedback, observation, or intuition) Headphones that would sound good, securely fit and can't fall out, not have cords that could get tangled or caught on things, and last a long time so they don't need to stop to charge them.

Apple wants to position it was based on feedback or such.

I believe that apple(beats) absolutely has athletes on the payroll who would take and answer a survey. I also imagine the question would have been asking about what would you want that the current “wired” version doesn’t give. In that scenario I can definitely see better audio as a suggestion and most likely the top suggestion seeing as how the design has only changed a little.

Are they still bass heavy like the original and 2's?
Ive never owned the originals, nor the 2s. I think they were pretty well balanced, not a ton of bass. But, you def need to a make sure you choose the correct ear tips and make sure they have a tight seal in your ear. If you do that, they sound great!

Or, he could have just worn is hear aid?

He’s a cock for wearing them, whilst dealing with clients.

No judgement on my part.
I wear my air pods and use the hearing aid function all the time. I guess some people are cocks.

I’m not suggesting that people who use air pods with the hearing aid function are cocks.

IMHO, there was no reason for him to be wearing the Powerbeats while dealing with clients.

If he had a need for a hearing aid, presumably he would have one that he wears, so why serve customers wearing the Powerbeats?

He may have thought he looked cool, but from my perspective, it appeared rude.
