    Hi there.

I'm new to this forum, and was wondering if anyone might be able to help me.

I have a PowerBook G3 Pismo 400Mhz / 512MB RAM and 40GB int. HD and am running OSX 10.3.4. I've recently purchased a Lacie F.A. Porsche 80GB external firewire drive. At first, things were fine. Lately I can only get the drive to mount once out of 20 attempts, if that.

There is a new firmware update from Lacie, but I can't install it w/o having my drive mounted.

Am I missing something really simple? I've tried all the slightly less than obvious tricks, i.e. zapping the PRAM, Hardware Reset, etc... and nothing seems to make this problem better or worse. I've tried connecting the drive and powering it up in every combination.

    Any ideas?
